Wedding Anniversaries at Sea

Wedding anniversaries warrant a special celebration at sea, which could range from a small intimate diner for two in your suite to a renewal of wedding vows ceremony preformed by the Captain followed by a reception. It is really up to you as to what you want to do. Most cruise lines will be happy to make special arrangements and to celebrate your anniversary with you. Some cruise lines offer special anniversary cruises on selected dates and entice you by providing a discounted cruise fare. Some cruise lines may provide you with the following amenities

Flowers in your cabin upon arrival

Captain’s champagne and cake reception

A silver plated photograph frame

A formal portrait photograph

$100 on board credit which can be spent on drinks, boutique, shore excursions

You should notify the cruise lines in writing at least 30 days in advance of your embarkation. On the smaller ships such as Seabourn Cruise Line, SeaDream Yacht Club, Silversea Cruises you could wait until you are onboard to arrange an anniversary cocktail party with the Maitre d’Hotel or the Hotel Manager. In this case they ask that you give them 24 hours notice for them to prepare for your special anniversary party.

Please note that some cruise lines may request that you send a copy of your marriage certificate to them with your final payment or they may request that you present your marriage certificate to the pursers office on the sailing day.
