Television

On most ships today you will have a television in your cabin and depending on the cruise line and the grade of cabin or suite selected, there also maybe video or DVD player available for your use. Today the televisions aboard ship are complex and integrated into the audiovisual systems aboard the ship to provide you with closed circuit TV (CCTV) international satellite TV (which may include transmissions from BBC World Service, CNN and Sky TV), e-mail and your onboard account. Satellite TV reception can not be guaranteed and the quality maybe poor as the ship is constantly moving and the satellite beam to the ship becomes weaker the further you are from shore. On trans oceanic voyages (trans Atlantic or trans Pacific cruises) you can expect to be without satellite TV for a number of days.

The ship’s library will usually have a wide selection of Videos and DVDs that you may borrow for personal viewing in your cabin.

In your cabin you will usually find information on how to operate your television, VCR, or DVD machine and the available channels. If you need assistance, contact your cabin stewardess/steward they will gladly assist you.
