With regards to Kosher meals, it is best to check with individual cruise lines as some cruise lines offer Kosher meals, while other cruise lines offer limited unsupervised Kosher meals. In response to the popularity of low carbohydrate diets, whether a passenger follows the Akins, South Beach, the Zone, or just subscribes to a low carbohydrate philosophy, several cruise lines have now introduced low carbohydrate dining selections on their dinner menus. If you are travelling with infants or small children, cruise lines are willing to accommodate your request for baby foods. Each cruise line will have different ways with dealing with your special dietary requests, but most cruise lines request that you notify them in writing, 4 weeks and 6 weeks for some, prior to sailing, in order to give the cruise line plenty of notice to place the necessary orders and also to provide you with the best service possible. Remember to take a copy of your special dietary request and take it with you in your hand luggage, just in case the Maitre d’Hotel or the Restaurant Manager do not have any record of your special dietary request onboard. On the day embarkation, once you arrive onboard you should confirm your arrangements with the Maitre d’Hotel or the Restaurant Manager, before you arrive for diner on your first night. Good advice is to confirm your arrangement before the ships sails.
