Blue Water Sailors Take Note

SeaDream Yacht Club’s SeaDream II will make a nine day transatlantic voyage (#2644) from Tenerife in the Canary Islands to San Juan, Puerto Rico, November 10-19.

And when guests decide to do something beyond looking at the sea, re-reading the Da Vinci Code, tackling War and Peace or getting tuned up in the mega-yacht’s Sea Dream Spa, they can stimulate their minds with a series of shipboard lectures on world affairs, great composers, jazz legends, the birth of Swing and on the history of the super speedy Concorde.  The nine-day voyage is priced from $2,399.00.

The High-Profile Speakers Are

Dr. Leah Adams---A former consultant to UNESCO and USAID, Dr. Adams is a well-known educator who has lectured around the world.

Harry Shapiro---Shapiro is a lecturer at McGill University in Canada and is a specialist on the music of such diverse artists as Louis Armstrong, George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein and Charlie Parker.

Pete Finlay---Finlay has a long history as a British pilot, flew the British Airways Concorde and traces the development of that superb aircraft.

SeaDream does not regularly offer lecture programs on its yacht-like sailings. Its guests have ample opportunity to entertain themselves with the company’s noted water sports program, unique shore excursions and other activities designed for well-traveled, active guests. It is offering its transatlantic travelers this series of compelling speakers as a diversion from those lazy days at sea that attract travelers to these "blue water" sailings.

"We believe the combination of mental tranquility afforded by days at sea and the stimulation of interaction with speakers on topical subjects will provide our guests on this transatlantic sailing with the best of all possible worlds," said Larry Pimentel, CTC, SeaDream’s President and CEO.

SeaDream I will be sailing the Atlantic (voyage #1646) from Tenerife to Rio de Janeiro, November 3 on a 14 day voyage.  This sailing will also feature speakers and will make port calls in the Cape Verde Islands and along the coast of South America.

All SeaDream fares include all meals, wine with lunch and dinner, open bar, use of water toys and gratuities. Air transportation and ground transportation to and from the SeaDream yacht is not included. Fares are capacity controlled and are subject to change without notice.
