Break away from a traditional fly/drive short break this year and sample a stress-free trip to some of the most popular destinations in Europe, such as Amsterdam and Lisbon.

Passengers booking itineraries featured in the newly published 2006 City and Short Breaks brochure from P&O Cruises, eliminate the stress of delayed flights, crowded airports and unknown standards of accommodation.

Philip Price, head of brand marketing, P&O Cruises said short breaks are more popular than ever, with people choosing to holiday more frequently, but for shorter periods.

"Today’s younger, busy travellers are looking for value for time as well as value for money.

"When time is of the essence, it’s vital to enjoy every second. Exploring new destinations time-effectively, having fun with holiday companions, indulging in spa treatments, and wining and dining are all high up on the holiday agenda.

"Many people are still curious about cruising and our range of Cruise Breaks gives them a chance to test the water, as well as providing the perfect way to experience an effortless break."

A short cruise begins with a champagne sailaway party on departure and continues right through to seeing the sunrise on the ship’s return to the port of Southampton.

Travelling on the superliners that sail the world, passengers enjoy the same high level of service, array of entertainment, dining options and leisure facilities as those taking a longer voyage.

P&O Cruises Is Offering City & Short Breaks From Two to Seven Nights Duration.

Itineraries include:

· A two-night party cruise on board Oceana, departing Southampton on April 21, 2006 and travelling to Bruges, priced from £339* per person

· A seven-night spring city break on board Oriana, departing Southampton on May 13, 2006 and travelling to St Peter Port in Guernsey, Bruges and Amsterdam, priced from £739 per person.

· A seven-night Fjords Adventure on board Arcadia, departing Southampton on June 11, 2006 travelling to Norwegian ports including Vik and Bergen, and traversing fjords such as Sognefjord and Nordfjord, priced from £1,289 per person.
