Profile

Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is an international cruise company and industry innovator that operates a fleet of 14 ships sailing to more than 140 ports around the world. NCL recently introduced Norwegian Pearl. In February 2000, NCL's parent company, NCL Holding ASA, was acquired by Star Cruises PLC of Malaysia. In April 2000, NCL announced its new Freestyle Cruising concept, which offers NCL passengers a more relaxed, resort-style cruise product. Hallmarks of this innovative service concept include open seating and extended hours in the main dining rooms, resort-casual attire every night, increased staffing, simplified tipping procedures and a more leisurely disembarkation procedure.
