Profile

Lars-Eric Lindblad started Lindblad Travel in 1958, and in rapid order pioneered tourism to many of the most extraordinary parts of the world -- including East Africa, Antarctica, Easter Island, the Galapagos, the Seychelles, the Amazon, Papua New Guinea, Bhutan, China and more others than there's room to mention here. Keep in mind; many of those places had no facilities for visitors.

Lars-Eric was fuelled by a deep-seated conviction that the most interesting way to see a place is to travel with people who know and love it, who can convey the enormous enthusiasm they themselves feel. And most importantly, that intelligent people who were enabled to experience the natural wonders of the world up-close and personally, would become powerful individual forces for preserving them.

In recent years the company has added tools to each vessel that greatly enhance our ability to explore and interpret the marine world, and to share it with our guests. Join of one of the expeditions, and you may find yourself on deck listening to the songs of whales as they play over the hydrophone, or, from the comfort of the lounge, watching live video of the world beneath the waves as an Undersea Specialist utilizes the underwater video camera to capture the sights.

Lindblad Expeditions' team

An extraordinary team of dedicated people works with Lindblad Expeditions, many of who have been with the company from its Special Expeditions days. Each is a knowledgeable expert in his or her field, collectively they are among the most informative, interesting and entertaining a group of people to head off on an adventure with as has ever been assembled. Their passion for their work, their respect for the natural world and their generous willingness to share what they know, makes travelling with the expedition team highlights of any LEX adventure.
