Library
Libraries have been apart of a cruise ship since the beginning and you will find a library on almost every cruise ship. Over the years libraries have evolved to provide passengers with the latest choice of books, ranging from the classics to bestsellers, periodicals and reference materials, along with a wide variety of videos and/or DVDs. In some libraries aboard ship you will even find a computer that has access to the Internet. In most libraries aboard ship you will also find the traditional board games, such as, scrabble, backgammon and chess etc. If you sail aboard a larger ship the library will usually be only open for a couple of hours in the morning and afternoon. While on the on the smaller luxury ships the library will be open 24 hours a day. Some cruise lines may ask for a small refundable deposit if wish to borrow a book. A number of cruise ships employee a full time librarian who are knowledgeable and able to assist passengers. Other ships rely on the cruise or entertainment staff that may not be so knowledgeable. Please remember to be courteous to fellow passengers and return any items to the library after you have finished reading or viewing them, then other passengers can enjoy the items you have returned. |
