Honeymoon Cruisers

Imagine what could be more perfect than celebrating your love for each other than taking a cruise for your honeymoon. Just think of the romance of sipping champagne in the moonlight as the sea breeze whispers around you on deck. Cruising is popular with honeymooners because it is romantic and offers you advantages that no other vacation can. A cruise vacation provides you with a hassle free and crime free environment, plus you will receive a high quality of service. A honeymoon cruise is easy to budget for because one price will often include your cruise fare, airfare, food, entertainment, transfers, along with any pre or post cruise hotel packages. Best of all you can now really relax after your wedding day.

A number of cruise lines offer Sunday or Monday departures, this allows you to have a traditional wedding and reception on Saturday, then travel to your ship to start your honeymoon cruise.

One piece of advice to ensure that you have a truly romantic cruise, is when selecting your cabin or suite at time of booking, ensure that it has a queen size bed and it is not a cabin that has one upper and one lower berth. Also if you would like a table for two reserved in the restaurant, insist on it at the time of booking. Some cruise lines may not guarantee such requests, whilst other will.

Most large cruise ships welcome honeymoon couples in providing them with specially design honeymoon packages

  • Flowers in your cabin upon arrival
  • One bottle of Champagne
  • A box of hand finished chocolates
  • Honeymoon cruise certificate
  • Stationary for those "Thank You" notes
  • A shipboard credit, which you can spend onboard for drinks, shops or the spa

If you would like a more intimate honeymoon, a smaller class of ship such as Seabourn Cruise Lines, SeaDream Yacht Club, Silversea Cruises or Radisson Seven Seas Cruises are just a few that may meet your requirements.

Regardless of which cruise ship you chose, one should be aware that some cruise lines will charge extra for a honeymoon package, while others will not. Just be sure you know all the costs and what you will be receiving from the cruise line, before you commit yourself to paying a deposit or final payment.

You might consider the following suggestion to ensure that you have a wonderful honeymoon

  • Select a cabin or suite that has a view of the ocean
  • Select a cabin or suite that has a private balcony
  • Ensure that your cabin has a queen size bed
  • Have breakfast in bed on your first morning at sea
  • Request a table for two at late seating in the ships restaurant
  • Dine in the specialty restaurant
  • Dine and dance under the stars
  • Take along your CD player and all your favorite songs
