Hapag-Lloyd Cruises Continues To Set The Highest Global Standards In Cruising

In August, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ flagship MS EUROPA became the only cruise ship worldwide ever to be honored with a "Six Star Diamond Award" presented by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. Renowned worldwide for recognizing excellence in the global travel and luxury services sector, each year the Academy presents its coveted International Star Diamond Award exclusively to five star establishments that its Board of Trustees judge to be the pinnacle of quality.

A presentation ceremony will be held in the U.S. on December 14, 2006 in Fort Lauderdale, when the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences’ president Joseph D. Cinque will join Sebastian Ahrens, Managing Director, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, and the entire team on board MS EUROPA in celebrating the prestigious Star Diamond Award.

"The American Academy is pleased to congratulate MS EUROPA Luxury Cruise Line for being selected as the first ever worldwide Six Star recipient of our coveted and prestigious Star Diamond Award," said Cinque.

"It gives us a great pleasure to honour you and your entire staff at MS EUROPA for upholding their exceptional efforts in enhancing the overall quality of commitment to hospitality, service, attitude, gastronomy and luxury travel. The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences commends MS EUROPA as the most extraordinary vessel in every aspect of its operation and for setting the highest standards in worldwide cruising."

"Sophisticated guests worldwide have long recognized EUROPA as offering the ultimate in luxury cruising in the most sophisticated European tradition," comments Sebastian Ahrens, Managing Director, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. "Hapag-Lloyd Cruises feels extremely honoured to receive this award, and we look forward to our celebration in Fort Lauderdale in December."

The celebration kicks off a 9-day cruise onboard MS EUROPA from Fort Lauderdale through the Caribbean Islands. This bilingual music-themed cruise stops in the Bahamas, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Key West, and offers Americans the opportunity to sample the ship that has won the highest possible international accolades.

The EUROPA experience will include a masterful blend of world-class cuisine: Special Michelin – star guest chef Karlheinz Hauser who is Culinary Consultant of the prestigious Mar-a-Lago Club, owned by Donald Trump, will be on this cruise with an array of gourmet presentations.
