Cashless

Cash is not normally accepted for purchases aboard. A charge account is automatically opened for each passenger at embarkation. At this point, the cruise line will usually take an imprint of your credit card, during the embarkation process. All onboard expenses, such as bar services, gifts, shore excursions and beauty treatments, will be charged to your onboard account. Towards the end of your cruise the purser’s office will send to your cabin a detailed account of all the charges. If you are in agreement with the final amount, there is no need to do anything, as it will appear on your credit card as submitted. Should you not be in agreement with the final statement inform the purser’s office immediately so that it can be resolve the problems. If you wish to pay by another means such as, cash, traveller’s checks, please inform the purser’s office prior to the last day of your cruise. A number of cruise lines discontinue the cashless systems on the last day and request that you pay for everything by cash for the balance of your cruise. In most cases this is only for the last evening, but even so many passengers find it very annoying.
